Established twenty years ago, The european restaurant is a family business, which has grown and developed through the years. The restaurant started its life with a bar on the second floor and eaterie on the first. The bar then transformed into a pasta restaurant in the mid 90's (Pastamania) before its current existence as the Bistro.
The european restaurant & bistro was refurbished in November 2004, to provide clients with a more contemporary environment to enjoy the quality cusine and a further development of the lounge was added in autumn 2005, to complete the dining experience.
Owner and Chef Gian Carlo Slaviero, followed classical training in a leading hotel in Turin before running a number of establishments in Italy, Jersey and finally the UK. His previous restaurants included Valentino's and Il Ponte Vecchio in Nottingham and L'incontro in Stamford. At The european, he broadened his offering of Italian cuisine to include other European influences.
Gian Carlo uses well-sourced seasonal produce to create the diverse and excellent menu. In conjunction with the kitchen team the restaurant is constantly moving forward with new ideas, innovative presentation and continual quality.
In the restaurant Giacomo, Valentina, Michelle and their team of staff are knowledgeable about what we offer and assist clients with suggestions, in addition to making sure that they are looked after.
